Kalpitiya is a coastal town in the North Western Province of Sri Lanka. It is known for wide sandy beaches, strong winds, and calm lagoons. The area is one of the best places in Asia for kitesurfing. Many local and international visitors come here during the windy season. Also famous for dolphin and whale watching. Large pods of spinner dolphins can often be seen in the sea.
